Check of serviceability and replacement of the coil of ignition

Check

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the radio tape recorder in your car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting a negative wire from the battery make sure that you know this code.

  1. Mark wires and plugs by means of the numbered adhesive tape pieces, then disconnect a wire from the coil of a wire of primary contour and VV. Disconnect assembly of an arm of the coil and remove it assembled with the coil. Clear outside the case of the coil and check it for existence of cracks and other obvious damages.
  2. Smooth out primary plugs of the coil and check VV the coil plug for existence of traces of corrosion. In case of detection of those remove them by means of a wire brush.
  3. Measure resistance of primary winding of the coil, having connected ohmmeter wires to positive and negative plugs. Compare results of measurements to data of Specifications.
  1. Check of resistance between plugs of primary winding of the coil of ignition - the coil has to be taken from a motive compartment and is postponed for a workbench that gives a guarantee of high-quality connection to its plugs of wires of an ohmmeter.
  1. Measure resistance of a secondary winding of the coil, having connected one wire of an ohmmeter to any of plugs of primary winding, and the second - to the big central (VV) plug of the coil. Compare result to data of Specifications.
  1. Measurement of resistance between positive VV (secondary) coil plugs.
  1. The values which are really taking place depending on temperature of the coil can differ slightly from provided in Specifications (characteristic of temperature about 21 °C).
  2. If the coil did not undergo testing, replace it.

Replacement

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

  1. Uncover the distributor (The head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). Give screws and disconnect wires from primary plugs.
  2. Give two screws and take the coil from a motive compartment.

Coil of ignition of the engine with a capacity of 4.0 l.

Removal of the coil of ignition from the 5.2 l engine.
  1. You make installation upside-down.
