Check of serviceability of functioning of system of ignition

In view of extremely high values of tension ignition developed by system, when performing any works on service of its components it is necessary to observe special precautionary measures. The ignition coil, the sensor of position of the camshaft and candle wires but also and accompanying, connected to system components such as electric sockets, tachometer and diagnostic the equipment belong to such components not only directly.

Basic check of serviceability of system of ignition and giving of power supply of the battery on the module of management (RSM) is inclusion of a control lamp "Battery" or "Oil pressure" at turn of the ignition key in position of ON.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check sockets and plugs of all wires of a contour of ignition for reliability of fastening, existence of cracks, traces of corrosion and other signs of deterioration in contact.
  2. By means of the calibrated tester of ignition make sure of adequacy of secondary tension (25 000 V) on each of spark plugs. Violation or weakening of contact is fraught with admissions of ignition. Besides check internal walls of protective covers of tips of candle wires for existence of coal paths.
  1. For connection of the calibrated ignition tester just disconnect a candle wire and connect it to a tester, then ground a tester and turn the engine - the developed power is sufficient for formation of a spark on a candle, that also will slip between a tip of an electrode and the case of a tester.
  1. Examine the ignition coil on existence of coal paths. In case of detection of those replace the coil and track that wires of a secondary contour of the coil were cleared and reliably fixed. Excessive value of resistance of wires or malfunction of sockets (contacts) is fraught with a coil exit out of operation.
  2. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance between coil plugs. If at this check the break (confirmed by infinite instrument reading) is revealed, replace the coil (Section Check of Serviceability and Replacement of the Coil of Ignition).
  3. Check a distributor cover for existence of coal paths and an erosion or cracks of plugs.
  1. Carefully survey an internal surface of a cover of the distributor on existence of damages.
  1. Existence on a cover of cracks, defects of speakers of frames of plugs and coal paths can be revealed by observation of sparking in the area to a distributor cover on started in dark (but well ventilated) the room the engine.
  1. By means of an ohmmeter measure resistance of candle wires. Resistance of each of them has to make not less than 25 000 Ohms.
  2. Check functioning of the valve of automatic shutdown of supply of fuel (ASD) (The head of the Power supply system and production of the fulfilled gases).
  3. Check functioning of the sensor of position of the camshaft (Section Check of Serviceability and Replacement of the Sensor of Position of the Camshaft).
  4. If results of all listed above checks are positive, Check amplitude (on tension) a signal from the processor. Having used a control lamp on a light-emitting diode make sure available food on a white-gray wire of the socket of the coil of ignition. Disconnect a secondary wire of the coil and ground the plug on the mass of the engine. Now ask the assistant to turn the engine and watch the pulsing flashes of a control lamp (light-emitting diode). Lack of flashes with high probability speaks about malfunction of the processor. Make diagnostics of malfunctions of RSM in a workshop of dealer office.
  1. Connect a control lamp to the positive plug (a white-gray wire) of the coil and you monitor its flashes at an engine provorachivaniye.
