Check of serviceability of functioning of system of a charge

If in work of system of a charge there is a refusal, it is not necessary to believe automatically that it failure of the generator is the reason. First of all make the following checks:

  • Make sure of purity and reliability of fastening on plugs of the battery of tips of its wires.
  • Check the specific weight of electrolyte of the battery. If it is insufficient, make battery charging (it is inapplicable to batteries of not demanding leaving of type).
  • Check a condition of an electrical wiring and contact plugs of the generator.
  • Check a state and a tension of a driving belt (The head Nastroyki and routine maintenance). In case of need replace it.
  • Check durability of tightening of bolts of fastening of the generator
  • Start the engine and check the generator for an izdavaniye to them unusual sounds (squeal or a scratch will indicate failure of the bearing).


  1. By means of the voltmeter check battery tension at the switched-off engine. It has to make about 12 Century.
  1. For voltage measurement of the battery connect the voltmeter to its plugs - for voltage measurement of a charge start the engine.
  1. Start the engine and repeat check. Now tension has to rise to value 14 - 15 Century.
  2. If the measured values of tension are lower or higher than stipulated, make check of serviceability of the regulator of tension in dealer office or a workshop of car service. Tension regulator on these models is a part of the Module of management (RSM) and is not subject to removal and control.
  3. In view of need of application for performing diagnostics and service of the generator of the special tool, authors of this manual recommend in case of an exit it out of operation to drive away the car for check and repair in dealer office or a workshop of car service. The amateur mechanic has to will be limited to performance of quality check and reliability of fastening of contact plugs of an electrical wiring, condition of the generator and its replacement in case of need.
  4. Some models are equipped with the ampermeter installed in the dashboard allowing to define in what state the battery stays (charging or a discharge i.e. whether there is current to the battery or from it). At the switched-on electric equipment and the engine of the shooter of the device working at single turns can fix a condition of a discharge of the battery. During the operation of the engine on turns of bystry idling or at the movement of the car the ampermeter has to show battery charging (the arrow is on the charging party of a scale of the indicator in case the battery is charged or to move towards the charging party of a scale if the battery was "sat down").
  5. The instrument guard of some models switched on also the voltmeter showing battery tension at turn of the ignition key in position of ON before start of the engine and the output tension of the generator at the working engine.
  6. The control lamp of a charge on the dashboard has to light up at the key turned in situation by ON and not started engine and to die away immediately after its start.
  7. If the measuring instrument does not fix battery charging when has to or the control lamp of the generator (if that is provided) remains included, in system of a charge there is a malfunction. Before starting check of a condition of brushes or replacement of the generator check a condition of the battery, contact plugs of an electrical wiring and a tension of a driving belt of the generator.
