System of a charge - the general information and precautionary measures

The generator, control lamp of a charge, the battery, the module of management (RSM), fusible safety insert and connecting wires between components are a part of system of a charge. The system of a charge provides with power supply system of ignition, lighting fixtures, the radio tape recorder and other electric equipment of the car. Rotation of the generator is carried out by the driving belt established in a forward part of the engine.

Subsystem management of output parameters of the generator in structure. RSM provides adjustment of level of tension developed by the generator according to concrete requirements (operating conditions) of the engine. Thereby decrease in load of the engine at change of parameters of the movement, speed of the car, temperature of a cooler and condition (on/off) of electric equipment (the air conditioner, lighting fixtures, the radio tape recorder, etc.) is carried out.

Problem of the regulator of tension is restriction of tension developed by the generator in certain limits that gives the chance to avoid the overloads of contours caused by power surges.

The system of a charge usually does not demand regular service. However, it is worth to remember about need of check of a condition of a driving belt of the generator, battery and electric contacts according to the schedule of routine maintenance of the car (The head Nastroyki and routine maintenance).

In case of refusal the generator it is necessary to replace it with the uniform block. The same concerns also tension regulator block if it is placed in RSM.

The control lamp on an instrument guard has to light up at turn of the ignition key in position of ON, and after implementation of start of the engine immediately to die away. If the lamp remains lit, in system of a charge there is a malfunction (Section Check of Serviceability of Functioning of System of a Charge). Some of cars are equipped also with the voltmeter. If indications of the voltmeter are excessively high, check a condition of system of a charge (Section Check of Serviceability of Functioning of System of a Charge).

When checking a condition of contacts of an electrical wiring of contours of system of a charge on the cars equipped with the generator of alternating current it is necessary to be careful:

  • At connection to the generator of wires from the battery you watch for respect for polarity.
  • Before applying arc welding to repair work disconnect wires from the generator and the battery.
  • Do not start the engine during battery charging at all.
  • Before battery charging always disconnect from it wires.
  • Rotation of the generator is carried out by a driving belt under which hit of hands, a hair and clothes at the working engine is fraught with receiving serious injuries - be attentive.
  • In view of the fact that the generator is connected directly to the battery, its overload or short circuit can become the cause of an electric arch and lead to the fire.
  • Before carrying out steam cleaning of the engine wrap the generator in a plastic bag, kotory1 fix by rubber bandages.
  • Do not disconnect the battery at the working engine at all.
