Check of functioning and replacement of the block of the sensor of temperature of a cooler

Before starting implementation of the procedure wait for full cooling of the engine.

The system of measurement of temperature of a cooler consists of the measuring instrument of temperature entering a combination of devices and the block of the sensor of temperature installed on the engine. Some models are equipped more than one sensor, however for indication of temperature uses only one of them which is usually equipped with the single-wire electric socket. The cooler temperature sensors transmitting signals to the processor are usually equipped with two wires.

In case the measuring instrument fixes an overheat, check cooler level, then make sure of reliability of fastening of contacts of an electrical wiring between the measuring instrument and the switch. Check a condition of safety locks.

At the included ignition and the turned starter the control lamp has to burn (check of serviceability of a lamp).

If the lamp does not burn, then or it fused, or the break of a contour takes place. Check a contour, having grounded a wire between a lamp and the sensor at the included ignition (but without starting the engine for safety). If the arrow of the measuring instrument deviates at the same time on all range of a scale, or the control lamp lights up, replace the sensor.

Right after start of the engine the control lamp has to go out and remain switched off before emergence of an overheat of the engine. The refusal of switching off of a lamp can happen owing to a zakorachivaniye on the mass of a wire between a lamp and the sensor, malfunctions of the sensor or failure of the lock of ignition. Make sure that the system is filled with a cooler of the required type. The excessive amount of water in mix can be the reason of decrease in a boiling point of a cooler to value of the sensor, insufficient for activation.

If the block of the sensor is subject to replacement, just unscrew it from the engine and screw new on its place. Grease a carving part of the new sensor with sealant. Before starting removal of the defective sensor make sure that the engine completely cooled down. At a sensor vyvinchivaniye inevitably there will be insignificant losses of a cooler - be ready to collecting the spilled liquid. After installation of the new block of the sensor check cooler level.
