Check of a condition of a bent shaft

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Wash out a bent shaft in solvent and dry it compressed air (if there is an access to its source). Clean a special rigid brush (brush) all oil openings. Also wash out them a solvent stream.
  2. Check necks of radical and conrod bearings for existence of signs of uneven wear, cavities and cracks.
  3. Carry out with pressing several times on each of necks an edge of a copper coin. If on the surface of necks there are copper strips, then it is rough and the shaft has to be sent to a pro-point.
  4. Remove agnails from edges of oil openings of a bent shaft by means of a grinding stone, a file or development.
  5. Check all other surface of a shaft for existence of cracks and other damages. For identification of the hidden cracks the shaft has to be subjected to special check that is a prerogative of specialists of car service.
  6. By means of a micrometer measure diameters of radical and conrod necks of a shaft and compare results to requirements of Specifications. Measurement of diameter of a neck in several points on perimeter of its forming surface will allow to reveal ovality of a neck. Measurement of diameter since the different ends of a neck closely to cheeks of cranks allows to define conicity of a neck.
  1. Measure diameter of each of necks of a bent shaft in several points for definition of degrees of ovality and conicity of a neck.
  1. If necks of a bent shaft are injured or conicity and ovality have limits, leaving for admissible on Specifications, the shaft has to be sent for a pro-point to a workshop of car service. After a pro-point inserts of bearings of the corresponding repair sizes have to be installed in the engine.
  2. Check face necks (pins) of a shaft on which epiploons are put on existence of signs of wear and damages. If in necks there are flutes developed by epiploons or their surfaces have teases, agnails and scratches, it will lead (in case the appropriate measures on elimination of defects are not taken) to an exit of new epiploons out of operation in the near future after the beginning of operation of the restored engine. It is necessary to give a shaft to a workshop for repair by a napressovka on its pins of thin plugs. In case repair does not have to is obviously possible to be replaced a shaft.
