General information

This Head is devoted to the description of procedures of repair of the 4.0 l line 6-cylinder engine which implementation is possible without extraction of the last of the car. All information concerning procedures of removal and installation of the engine, and also capital repairs of the block and a head of cylinders can be found in Chapter of the Procedure of the general and capital repairs of the engine.

The description of the repair procedures offered below is made on the basis of the assumption that the engine remains established on the car. If the engine is removed and postponed for the assembly stand, many of the steps recommended below will be inapplicable.

The specifications provided in the beginning of this Chapter belong only to the procedures described here. Specification requirements to performing procedures of repair and restoration of the block and a head of cylinders are stated at the beginning to Chapter of the Procedure of the general and capital repairs of the engine.
