Check of a state and replacement of brake hoses and lines

Check of a state

Each half a year, поддомкратив the car and having installed it on props, check the rubber brake hoses connecting steel lines to assemblies of lobbies and back brake mechanisms on existence of cracks, protertost of external covers, signs of leaks, swellings and other damages. Hoses are important and vulnerable components of the brake system and have to look round on all length. Conducting such check will be helped by use of a small lamp and pocket mirror. In case of identification of any of the listed above defects the hose is subject to immediate replacement.

Replacement

Forward brake hoses

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect the brake line of the union of a hose, try not to bend at the same time an arm or the line. If there is such opportunity, use a special key for an otdavaniye of cap nuts of nipple connections.
  1. For removal of a forward brake hose give the brake line from its union - use a special key for an otdavaniye of cap nuts of fastening of metal lines; then you otboltit a hose from a frame, having used for this purpose a head like TORX or the screw-driver.
  1. By means of a head like TORX or the screw-driver you otboltit a hose from a frame.
  2. Give a hollow bolt of nipple knot of fastening of a hose to a support of the brake mechanism (see an illustration) and disconnect a hose from a support. Throw out sealing washers.
  3. At installation first of all connect a hose to a support, replace sealing washers on both sides of the union. Tighten an entrance bolt of nipple connection with the required effort.
  4. Without overwinding a hose, connect the brake line to its union, however do not tighten a nut of nipple connection so far.
  5. Establish a bolt of fastening of a hose to a frame and reliably tighten it.
  6. Strongly delay nipple connection of a hose with the line.
  7. After completion of installation of a brake hose it should not be overwound. Make sure that the hose does not touch anywhere to any moving components of a suspension bracket - for this purpose ask the assistant to turn several times a steering wheel from an emphasis against the stop. In case of need make correction of installation of a hose. Pump over the brake system (Section Pumping of the Brake System).

Back brake hoses

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. By means of two keys disconnect a hose from an arm on a frame - you watch to deforming an arm or steel lines.
  2. By means of flat-nose pliers remove an U-shaped clip and disconnect a reception half of the nipple socket from an arm.
  1. For a detachment of a brake hose from the metal line distribute two nipple connections equipped with a carving (in order to avoid a provorachivaniye of one of them when untwisting another use the second wrench), then by means of flat-nose pliers or bokorez (diagonal nippers) remove an U-shaped clip.
  1. Disconnect two hydraulic lines from the connecting block, then an otboltita and remove a hose.
  2. Priboltite the connecting block to a bridge case, then connect lines, having strongly delayed their nipple connections. Without overwinding a hose, fix a reception half of its nipple connection in a frame arm.
  3. Establish an U-shaped clip of fixing of the reception end of a hose in an arm.
  4. By means of couple of wrenches connect steel lines to reception half of nipple connections. Again you watch to bending an arm or the steel line.
  5. Make sure that in the course of installation of a hose there was no weakening of fastening of an arm of a frame. In case of need tighten fixture.
  6. Fill in liquid in the tank of the main brake cylinder and pump over system (Section Pumping of the Brake System).

Metal brake lines

When replacing brake lines pay special attention to a design and manufacturing techniques of replaceable components. Do not install in contours the brake system copper tubes at all. Only steel tubes acquired in dealer office or company shop of auto parts are good.

It is preferable to get brake lines with already razvaltsovanny end faces and equipped with nipple connections. To such lines if they are bought under concrete model of the car in dealer office or are ordered in company shop, the corresponding form is usually already given.

At installation of the new line take care of reliability of its fastening in arms and of that between it and the moving or strongly warmed components of a suspension bracket and system of production of the fulfilled gases there was a sufficient gap.

Upon completion of installation check liquid level in the tank of the main brake cylinder, in case of need make having added. Pump over the brake system (Section Pumping of the Brake System) and before starting operation of the car, carefully check serviceability of functioning of brakes.
