Removal, check of a state and installation of components of coupling

The dust produced in the course of functioning of coupling and accumulating on a surface of its components may contain noxious to health asbestos. Do not blow off dust from coupling components compressed air AT ALL and do not inhale it. Do not use for removal of dust solvents on an oil basis or gasoline. For washing off of dust in the prepared capacity it is necessary to use the structures intended for cleaning of brake mechanisms. After completion of cleaning and rubbing of components of coupling merge the used cleaner and put dirty rags in the container marked as appropriate.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. For ensuring access to components of coupling it is enough to remove the transmission (RKPP), having left the engine in the car. If the engine is removed for carrying out capital repairs, survey and replacement of worn-out components of coupling have to be made without fail. Rather small cost of components of coupling in comparison with costs of time and forces of ensuring access to them does reasonable performing replacement of components every time at their removal if of course they are not absolutely new and are in an excellent state. The description of the procedures offered below is made proceeding from the assumption that the engine is not removed from the car.
  2. Disconnect the executive cylinder from the coupling case (The section Removal and installation of components of hydraulic system of switching off of coupling).

Do not disconnect the hydraulic line from the executive cylinder - the system is not subject to pumping in case of hit of air in it!

  1. Remove from the RKPP car (The head the Manual box of gear shifting). The engine leave propped up. It is preferable even to hang out it on the winch. If the engine is propped up by a jack, do not forget to lay for distribution of loading between a head of a jack and the pallet of a case wooden whetstone.

Maslozabornik of the oil pump is located very close to a case pallet bottom. If the pallet is bent, it can lead to violation of functioning of lubricant system.

  1. For support of the conducted disk in the course of removal install on a disk nave the tool for its centering.
  2. Carefully check a basket of coupling and a flywheel for existence of identification tags. Usually it is tags in the form of letters of X or Oh, or just dabs put with white paint. If tags do not manage to be found, put down them with own hand so that at assembly the relative provision of a flywheel and a basket was kept.
  1. Mark the provision of a basket of coupling concerning a flywheel (shooter) (in a case of course if you are not going to change a basket).
  1. Turning each of bolts of fastening of a basket to a flywheel gradually for one approach, weaken them. Act in a diagonal order, trying to obtain full removal of the loading created by petals of a diaphragm spring. Then, strong holding a basket, finally remove bolts of its fastening. Remove a basket and the conducted disk.

Check of a state

Usually refusals and malfunctions of coupling are connected with wear of its conducted disk. However, it is necessary to check a condition of all components of assembly.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Check a flywheel for existence of cracks, furrows, signs of an overheat and other obvious defects. If defects are insignificant, the surface of a flywheel can be restored by machine processing which authors of this manual recommend to make regardless of an external condition of a surface of a flywheel. Procedures of removal and installation of a flywheel are considered in the Head the Line six-cylinder engine.
  1. Check a flywheel surface for existence of cracks, overheat signs (sites with the changed coloring) and other obvious defects; machining of a flywheel in a workshop of car service will help to get rid of all insignificant defects - the surface of the flywheel shown in a picture is almost in perfect tune; however, authors of this manual recommend to make machine processing of a flywheel regardless of its external state.
  1. Check a condition of a frictional overlay of the conducted disk. The slip has to tower over heads of rivets at least on 1,6 mm. Check a disk for weakening of rivets, existence of deformations, cracks, the broken springs and other damages. As it was already mentioned above, the disk should be replaced in the presence of the slightest doubts in definition of its state.

The conducted disk

1 — the Frictional slip - Are subject to wear in the course of coupling functioning
2 — Rivets - Serve for fastening of a slip and, at contact with surfaces of a flywheel or a press disk cause their damage
3 — Tags - "FLYWHEEL SIDE", or something like that

  1. Check a condition of the processed surfaces and petals of a diaphragm spring of assembly of a basket of coupling with a press disk. If the surface is covered with furrows or otherwise damaged, replace assembly. Also check a basket for existence of signs of obvious damages, deformations and cracks. Easy polishing of a press disk can be eliminated by means of an emery paper. For replacement of assembly use new or fabrichno the restored blocks.
  1. In case of detection of signs of excessive wear replace a basket of coupling with a press disk.

  2. Examine the directing bearing (Section Check of a State and Replacement of the Directing Bearing).

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Before installation wipe the processed surfaces of a flywheel and a basket of coupling with the rags moistened in acetone. It is important that on these surfaces or on overlays of the conducted disk oil or lubricant did not get. Touch components only with clean hands.
  2. Apply the conducted disk and a basket of coupling to a flywheel and press them by means of the centering tool. Make sure of correctness of installation of components (the majority of the replaceable clutch plates (conducted) are equipped with marking of "FLYWHEEL SIDE" (the party turned to a flywheel) or another of the same sense - if marking is absent, establish a disk by damping springs to the transmission).
  1. Before tightening fixing bolts to an ottsentruyta the conducted disk in a coupling basket by means of the special tool - the centering tool can be acquired in any shop of automobile accessories and its application allows to reduce significantly time for centering of coupling and to completely eliminate any doubts in its correctness.
  1. Moving on basket perimeter, by hand tighten bolts of its fastening to a flywheel.
  2. Having passed the extender of the centering tool through the nave equipped with vents throughout the directing bearing of a bent shaft, an ottsentruyta the conducted disk. For full landing of the tool in the directing bearing shake it up-down or here and there. In order to avoid deformation of a basket, working in a diagonal order and gradually for each approach, tighten bolts of fastening of a basket to a flywheel with the required effort. Remove the centering tool.
  3. Grease with high-temperature lubricant an internal flute of the release bearing (The section Removal, check of a state and installation of the release bearing of coupling). Also grease the contact surfaces of the lever of switching off of coupling and the holder of the bearing of a main shaft of the transmission.
  4. Install into place the release bearing (The section Removal, check of a state and installation of the release bearing of coupling).
  5. Install into place the transmission (The head the Manual box of gear shifting).
  6. Install the executive cylinder (The section Removal and installation of components of hydraulic system of switching off of coupling).
  7. Remove jacks and lower the car on the earth.
  8. Carry out trial runs, having checked serviceability of functioning of the transmission and coupling.
